things i am immensely proud of......
breastfeeding.
making my own baby food.
being pregnant again and still managing dinner 5 nights a week.
shamelessly eating burger king daily.
teaching ava to slap her leg and throw her head back while she laughs.
wearing ava as much as possible even though she weighs in at 23 lbs.
being dairyfree for 9 months and counting.

success?
my very own definition of SUCCESS.....
Success is making dinner while holding a squirming, reaching, kissing, drooling, singing 9 month old.
Success is getting out of the house dressed.
Success is remembering where you left your cell phone.
Success is finding time to take a shower & actually using it to take a shower.
Success is slapping your leg laughing at loud with your 9 month old when you realize you locked your keys in the house again.
Success is getting the laundry from the bedroom floor to the kitchen floor one day, from the kitchen floor to the laundry room the next- in the washing maching that night & the dryer in the morning...folding optional.

i never thought being a mommy would mean choosing between eating breakfast or kissing your husband before the baby wakes....or that i would wear a shirt with spit up on it for 2 days in a row and not even notice(or care after finding out).. or that i am capable of going to work while drinking a coffee & answering the phone while also talking on the walkie talkie to my sick husband all while bouncing on my heels so the baby im wearing in a sling stays asleep...

so
so. the sandman has a slipped disk in his back and is out of work and home for the next few weeks. enough said. (ie im going out of my mind)
so. oreos are NOT really dairy free.. and my poor little bluebird is suffering.
so. decaf coffee with a shot of vanilla and soymilk was the highlight of my morning.
and then i heard the sandman singing to the bluebird.
sigh.

target
dear Ava,
even though your only 3 months old..
i like to believe you have inherited my love of cheap fashion & red nail polish & bargains & long walks down aisles & aisles of interesting items...but i guess i was wrong...
since you cry when we enter target and smile when we leave...
why Ava why....
love Mommy
trees
sitting in my office this fall day watching my 94 year old gramma push her 10th greatgrandaughter~ my 3 month old beauty~ in her carriage..
orange & red leaves are swirling around Gramma Luisa's feet and the carriage wheels..
every now & then she leans down to tuck Ava in & smiles.
i feel so blessed to have these kind of days.
and am so happy my little bluebird can know the love of her great grandmother!
like a tree with deep roots i hope one day she will feel as full & happy as i do. sigh.

ITS A NEW DAY
welll... i adore reading blogs , and often spend my time sitting on the couch with my lovely baby mentally writing one .. some how it never translates to the written word.. but since my sister in law http://catherineamendola.blogspot.com/is putting me to shame - here i go in a renewed effort....
today is one of those beautiful not quite fall-in-newengland days.. sunshiney and warm with a cool breeze and hints of wood smoke in the air. perfect. spent my morning sitting on my back porch with my beautiful little girl... thinking about how fast the past 3 months have come an gone... my little Ave West is so big! and beautiful...
- i look at her bright eyes sparkling in anticipation at me and allow my heart to dream .. she is truly Gods promise to me.. tangible evidence of the faithfulness of my King... i look at her and my own eyes start to sparkle and dream in anticipation...
